Step 2 - Assessment/preliminary offer

A Horizon Solar Energy representative will contact you to assess your electricity needs, understand your goals, and answer your questions. During this initial discussion, your Horizon Solar Energy representative will:

  • assess your commercial goals and identify financial, strategic, and environmental goals that may be met using on-site solar power generation
  • assess your site to determine location, available space (roof / ground / parking area), shading, and existing utility service
  • consider your electricity needs to determine the right system size for your facility based on existing energy and power consumption

They will also explain how a solar energy system works and discuss the financial rebates and incentives available in your area. If you wish, they will provide you with references from other Horizon Solar Energy customers.

With this information, your Horizon Solar Energy representative will be able to develop a preliminary offer for your consideration to determine if the recommended solution meets your needs.

The preliminary offer will include:

  • budgetary pricing for the proposed Horizon Solar Energy system
  • estimated energy production on an annual basis
  • resulting energy savings under the appropriate utility rate schedule
  • an overview of available government & State incentives and rebates that may be available
  • scope of work that will be provided by Horizon Solar Energy
  • a listing of additional value-enhancing products that may be selected

Step 3 – Detailed offer

After submitting a preliminary offer for consideration, our representative will contact you to determine whether the proposed Horizon Solar Energy system meets your goals. We will then arrange a site visit to gather information on the facility and verify that the site conditions are favorable. With this information, we will provide an all-inclusive fixed quote.

The detailed offer will include:

  • fixed pricing for a proposed Horizon Solar Energy system
  • an overview of available government incentives and rebates
  • scope of work and product offerings to be provided by Horizon Solar Energy
  • estimated energy savings under the appropriate utility rate schedule
  • preliminary system layout and design drawings
  • a preliminary project schedule

We will then provide a contract for the proposed Horizon Solar Energy system to be executed by both parties. The final step is the actual system installation and commissioning.

Step 4 – Installation and operation

Once you have decided to have a Horizon Solar Energy system installed, we will finalize the system design and initiate the permitting application process.

During installation, we will work with other facility contractors (roofers, energy management, electricians, for example) to ensure that your solar energy installation is integrated with the existing facility and equipment. We will also commission the system to ensure it complies with all local and national code requirements.

Where rebates and incentives are available, we will assist in filling out and submitting the forms to the proper agencies. Horizon Solar Energy has developed relationships with representatives from many of the various incentive programs and can provide support in processing these documents.

Upon completion of the system installation, we make sure you will be able to track the progress of your system. Our Energy Assistant solar management tool helps make monitoring your system easy.

If your organization opts to purchase a system, training for on-site personnel is provided during commissioning to go over the simple tasks required to maintain and operate the system. Operation and maintenance service contracts are also available for customers who prefer to have Horizon Solar Energy operate and maintain the system.
